If you were hoping that Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler would actually be an American Idol judge, you may no longer have to "dream on."
While the folks over at Fox have officially said "no comment," a source has told E! News that the 62-year-old rocker "finalized negotiations late last week and is officially signed on to be a judge on the 10th season of American Idol."
And in case you're still not convinced, Aerosmith bassist Tom Hamilton is also confirming the news! "Steven is doing 'American Idol.' The ink is dry on that," he told The Star-Ledger. "So, we'll have to work around his schedule for a new record."
Earlier this month Tyler spilled the beans after a concert in Las Vegas. "(I’m) probably going to be judge on American Idol," he said. "I’m doing it. What do you think? I’m doing it."
If Tyler is, in fact, the latest addition to the AI judge's ever-rotating (farewell, Paula Abdul, Simon Cowell, Ellen DeGeneres and Kara DioGuardi!) table, that still leaves two empty spots next to Randy Jackson.
While Idol fans wait to get the official word on whether or not Tyler is actually joining the show, there's still speculation that Jennifer Lopez will be part of the next season, too. Despite some alleged diva demands, a report from Entertainment Weekly says that the singer/actress is still considered a "front runner."
